Eyes On Jesus

Are your eyes on Jesus?

Over the past few weeks, some of my closest friends and I have been on a heart transformation journey back to the Heart of Worship. (is there a song playing in your heard right now….. I’m coming back to the Heart of Worship….)

What happened?

Well about the beginning of September we started seeing many many videos about the Rapture happening soon and about the 9/23 sign.  So this made us want to dig deeper into our bible to study more about End Times and Jesus’ Return.  God used this time to pull us closer to him.  We also started to question- if the rapture is tomorrow or next week have we done enough for His kingdom? Of course, the answer is NO because there is always more that can be done.  We started to feel an extreme sense of Urgency when we realized how close Jesus’ return is.

I do not know when he will return but I do know many bible Prophecies are being fulfilled about the end times…. Are you ready?  See my post about this here

We also started to realize how much we need to live in Gods word in today’s world.

Matthew 4:4 “It takes more than bread to stay alive.  It takes a steady stream of words from God’s mouth.”

“Without Gods Word we are weak, ignorant vessels, losing our way in this complex world system dedicated to keeping us from discovering and living the truth.”-kingdomnomics.com

I am studying Romans with Bible Study Fellowship and our world is very Similar to Romans 1:19-32. In our Lecture this week we talked about what things in your life are fulfilling you the way only Jesus should?

  • Family
  • Work
  • Fitness
  • Health
  • Beauty
  • Ministry
  • Money
  • ect.

If any of these things are fulfilling you then they have become a sin or stronghold in your life and it is time to reevaluate your decisions.

We live in an ME world.  Everything revolves around selfies and selfie videos and before we know it, it can overtake us.

1 Corinthians 10:31 Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.

At Church, a few weeks ago we were talking about conquering gray areas of life and our pastor listed these questions to ask ourselves when making a decision:

  1. Is it helpful to me?
  2. Does it potentially enslave me?
  3. Does it encourage my brothers and sisters in Christ?
  4. Does it help or hinder my gospel Witness?
  5. Does it show love to others?
  6. Is it consistent with my life in Christ?
  7. Does it violate my conscience?
  8. Does it follow the pattern of the life of Jesus?
  9. Does it honor my body which belongs to God?
  10. Does it glorify God?

Are there things in your life that you need to remove?

  • Relationships
  • TV shows
  • Books
  • Movies
  • Secular Music

Do they distract you for Jesus? Do they make your mind think about other things that do not bring you back to the bible?  Are they growing your faith? I have removed so much from my life over the past month and it really has made my focus all about Jesus.  By removing things that are wasting your time you can add in things that focus on his kingdom.

  • Surround yourself with bible friends to walk through life with is vital in today’s world.

My favorite statement I heard at BSF this week is- “We should be just as excited about spreading Gods word as we are with good news in our life.  Are you that excited?

My Friends and I have a challenge and I Challenge you- Spend as much time in God’s word as you do watching TV and on social media every day. You will start to see how petty and scary our world is and how much we need to live in Gods word.

Psalm 34:8 Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in him.

Are you struggling with how to read your bible?

There is no right or wrong way to read your bible, find a topic you love and dive in. Read all the bible verses about this topic, find books by good Christian authors about these topics and find Christian movies to watch.  Some thoughts- Heaven, End Times, Bible Prophecy, Gods Love for his people, Ester and the Women of the Bible, or get a chronological order Bible to read through it. You can also use plans on the Youverse app and the App will read to you while you are driving or working.

If you choose to dive into Bible Prophecy and End Times please make sure that you use a good pastoral source.  An easy way to find this is to get on Daystar TV and see what Pastors speak there.  There are so scary people out there who speak of end times and want to scare you.  Remember Gods Love is Bigger than anything in the World.

John 14:27 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you; not as the world giveth, give I unto you.  Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

Have a Joyful day

Jenn

Awesome post, it’s a great reminder of how important God is in our life on a daily basis. Making sacrifices for our relationship with Him is nothing compared to the sacrifice Jesus Christ made for us and our sins. Thanks for helping keep us focused on our faith journey.
