Holiday Inn Vacation Club Galveston Beach Resort

We stayed here this summer while in Galveston.

The resort is a fantastic set up for families.  I choose this particular Hotel because it is on the beach and you do not need to cross seawall Blvd to get to the beach like you do at most hotels in Galveston.  The beach is clean, the waves are fantastic for boogie boarding, the ocean has a very gentle slope which is perfect for wading in the water with littles.  We brought our own umbrella and chairs-see post about what we packed here.  But you can rent them on the beach from a vendor that is not part of the hotel for around $30 a day.  You cannot reserve the day before, but from what I could tell, there was no need too.

The resort is very laid back and everyone just does their own thing.

The Resort does have a pool which is something we really wanted as we were not sure how the girls would do on the beach.  They loved the beach but also loved going to the pool!

The rooms are large and clean.  Our room was a 1 bedroom with a king bed and sofa bed.   The king is in a separate room with doors between it and the rest of the rooms which is fantastic when the littles need to go to bed and you would like to stay up. The bedroom does have a TV and Safe.  The safe in the bedroom closet seemed larger than most you see in hotels.

The sofa is in the living room which also has a TV, DVD player and docking station.

Also, included is a kitchen with a full refrigerator, stovetop, microwave, dishwasher, cookware and washing machine/dryer in the hall way between the rooms.

The rooms are a condo-like setup and they do not offer daily maid service, but the staff will gladly bring you new towels and trash bags.

The hotel offers free Wifi.

There is free parking underneath the hotel which is very nice to have your car in the shade.

There is also a rec room that has DVDs you can check out for free and games for the kids.  The front desk does offer snacks and incidentals, but there is not a restaurant at the location.
